  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

New solo album released March 2018. It was recorded June 2017 at the Rua Room in Ghent, Belgium with Daithi Rua on engineering duties. I wanted to capture the immediacy and intimacy of my live performance in a studio setting and arranged these songs accordingly for solo acoustic guitar and voice. Includes a cover of the haunting Irish Language song 'Beir Mi O' and an edit of a previously unreleased song 'The Colour Of Light' from a live concert recorded at the legendary folk club Toogenblik in Brussels as part of my 2016 tour in Belgium.

If time is the river and we are the shore I’ll stand here beside you forever and more True as the water runs down to the sea I’ll hold you in my arms and take you with me Tell me the stories of other young men Who left what they loved to start rambling again Strayed in the ports of their own promised land After the ship had long sailed on The valleys were green As we looked from the mountains The mist on the hills rolling by The valleys were green As we ran down the mountains Free as the wind that blows far and wide If time is the river and we are the shore I’ll stand here beside you forever and more True as the water runs down to the sea I’ll hold you in my arms and take you with me Tell me the stories of where you have been All those fine places I never have seen I counted the days The years in between After the ship had long sailed on The valleys were green As we looked from the mountains The mist on the hills rolling by The valleys were green As we ran down the mountains Free as the wind that blows far and wide If time is the river and we are the shore I’ll stand here beside you forever and more After the last star has faded and gone I’ll lie in your arms and I’ll sail on

Sunshowers 04:32
When we were children We played out in the sunshowers When we were children We danced out in the sunshowers We walked home in the rain While we were running The wind would race behind us While we were running The leaves would chase behind us We found shelter in the storm Front doors were bigger Windows all closed over Front doors were bigger Open wide when you called over We took one day at the time Free city marches We watched them with our fathers Free city marches We watched them for their fathers We rose with the dawn So we remember We tell each other stories So we remember We tell each other’s story We look to the sky When we were children We played out in the sunshowers When we were children We danced out in the sunshowers We walked home in the rain

I’ll lay flowers and roses too Summer flowers in memory of you Paint the colours Bold and bright Stand together Far and wide I’ll lay flowers and roses too I’ll hold candles in the square Summer candles to remember you were there Count the stars Clear and bright Stand together Through the night I’ll hold candles in the square I’ll find corners in the rain Summer corners to be with you again All the people Strong and bright Stand together Side by side I’ll find corners in the rain I’ll lay flowers and roses too Summer flowers in memory of you Paint the colours Bold and bright Stand together Far and wide I’ll lay flowers and roses too I’ll lay flowers and roses too

No one needs another great song To sing of war and evil done When the dust has blown and settled We mourn the loss and grieve as one No one needs another rainbow The air that day was pale and gold It burned our skin and killed our children There were no marks No bullet holes No one needs another great song Telling us what’s right and wrong In the name of God and this holy union May the mighty kneel and the peace be won We learned to run while we were hiding Left everything when we heard the bell Like a stone dropped in the water We felt the waves when the barrels fell No one needs another great song Telling us what’s right and wrong In the name of God and this holy union May the mighty kneel and the peace be won For the love of God and this blessed union May the mighty kneel and the peace be won

Say it once Say it twice I’ll take your advice I’ll think it over See me now See me then I’ll count to ten I’ll find another The World is a safe place To learn about heartache No one can deny The World is a strange place I’m falling on my face No time to decide I was wrong I was right The Colour of Light What goes up must come down I’ll keep what I’ve found For ever after Easy come Easy go I’ll let you know Sooner or later The World is a safe place To learn about heartache No one can deny The World is a strange place I’m falling on my face No time to decide I was wrong I was right The Colour of Light

about

‘Sunshowers’ by J Eoin (Official Press Release)

J Eoin's new studio album titled ‘Sunshowers’ was released March 2018 by independent record label Natural5Four Records.

‘Sunshowers’ features six original songs recorded in the Rua Room, Ghent, Belgium during June 2017 and engineered by Daithi Rua. I wanted to deliver solo versions of the songs as I would do them in a live concert setting using just acoustic guitar and voice.

The finished songs were mixed and mastered by Dag Henning Kalvøy in Oslo.

A previously unreleased song, ‘The Colour Of Light’ which was recorded live at a concert in Toogenblik, Brussels in July 2016, is included as the final song on the album.

This collection of songs deal with issues of love, loss and the endurance of the human spirit in times of conflict. As such, they are intimate subjects and I wanted the sparse arrangement and pared back production of this CD to deliver its own emotional punch.

‘Sunshowers’ was debuted live at a concert in Seven Arts, Leeds on March 21st 2018. Promoted by MEWL Music (UK).
